Napoli manager Antonio Conte has explained why Scott McTominay has made such an impact at the football club.

    Conte spoke about McTominay’s improvement ahead of the trip to Lecce: “I always say you have to find solutions to score goals. When these situations arise you have to find solutions together and plan even for improvements.”

    “I think McTominay is stronger today than when he came from Man United. He’s matured a lot here.”

    “I think he feels stronger, more informed. He’s at a crucial stage in his career where he needs to understand where he wants to go. Because he’s in the middle of nowhere. He’s never had a main role at United, which is what we’ve given him here.”

    “He has grown a lot from working hard. Today he was perfect. But the improvements he has made, everyone has made as well. Otherwise, it would be difficult to explain why we have 74 points today.”

The 28-year-old has gone on to become a key player in Napoli’s charge for the Serie A title. Scoring an impressive 11 goals from midfield, surpassing his records from multiple Premier League campaigns.
